Dear Community Members,
Domestic Violence is a serious issue that affects individuals and families across all
demographics. Whether it comes in the form of physical, emotional, or financial abuse, the
impact is devastating and can alter the course of a person’s life. As a society, we must recognize
the significance of this issue and come together to support both men and women who are
experiencing Domestic Violence.
Statistics reveal that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men will experience severe intimate partner
violence during their lifetime. Despite these alarming numbers, many survivors struggle to find
the resources and support they need to escape abusive situations. Domestic Violence crosses all
boundaries of age, gender, race, and income level, leaving its victims in vulnerable positions.
At Word of Truth and Hope Ministries, we are dedicated to providing the resources necessary
for survivors to rebuild their lives. Our services include counseling, safety planning, housing
assistance, legal advocacy, and more. As a nonprofit, we rely heavily on the support of the
community, through both donations and volunteer efforts, to continue serving those in need.
For those seeking to fulfill Volunteer Time Off (VTO) hours, we offer a variety of opportunities
to help make a difference. Whether your passion is in direct service, administrative work, or
assisting with outreach and fundraising, your time and dedication are invaluable to our cause. By
volunteering, you’re offering hope and making a tangible impact in the lives of survivors who
are working toward a brighter future.
We encourage local businesses to support employees in using their VTO hours to volunteer with
organizations like ours. Together, we can provide a lifeline to those who are suffering from
Domestic Violence and work towards creating a safer and more supportive community. If you
are interested in volunteering or learning more about how you can help, please reach out to on
our contact page or call us directly at 1-800-393-6080. Your involvement can be life-changing
for those in need.
Thank you for joining us in our mission to combat Domestic Violence.
Sincerely,
Gwendolyn Thompson
